Berthe Weill at NYU’s Grey Art Museum In-Person

Berthe Weill is largely unknown, yet she discovered artists who
are now household names, including Matisse and Picasso. She
was the first dealer to give solo shows to Diego Rivera and
Amedeo Modigliani. Although she had a keen eye for talent, she
struggled with sales, often making more money selling antiques
than art. Her story of survival as a single Jewish woman in Paris
during two World Wars is compelling. Presented by Lauren
Kaplan. Register: rosa@seaclifflibrary.org
